VIDEO: Roberto V Martin: Fan Debates Which Keeper Should Start For West Ham Against Spurs

The noises coming out of West Ham over the past couple of weeks since the debacle against Burnley is that Manuel Pellegrini will keep faith with Roberto.

Despite his calamitous own goal at Turf Moor, it has been suggested that third choice keeper David Martin is simply not an option to replace the Spaniard in goal. This Hammers fan analyses why this might be the case:

It’s a good point that if Pellegrini does drop Roberto, the keeper’s confidence will be so low that he won’t be able to come back into the side in the future.

If Martin has a poor game against Spurs, what happens then? As this supporter says that’s still not enough to justify keeping Roberto in the team.

He has been consistently poor since his arrival on a free transfer, and a lot of fans would not see any reason why Martin shouldn’t be given a chance in Lukasz Fabianski’s absence.
