West Ham have been in talks with Chelsea about signing left-back Emerson Palmieri, according to multiple reports in the English media.
It is believed that the Hammers have had an opening £13m bid turned down but they are not thought to be far off from an agreement, with Chelsea holding out for around £15m.
Emerson is an experienced international defender and most supporters on Twitter would be very happy if the club can secure the services of the fullback:
Unreal signing – him and Kehrer not only add much needed depth but some actual quality too

Haven't really seen him play abroad but his time at Chelsea definitely didn't impress me, hope he proves me wrong

Love all the people saying he’s no good, yet Brazil and Italy caps suggest he’s probably not a bad player.

Didn’t play until spinazzola got injured

He’s a massive upgrade on Masuaku (so would I be) and it’s the first time Cresswell’s had any real competition.

Would be nice to wrap up the CB and LB quickly so we can focus on our attacking options

There is no doubt that Emerson would offer major competition for Aaron Cresswell on the left flank. Following the departure of Arthur Masuaku, it’s an area of the pitch that was badly in need of reinforcements.
Considering the minor differences between the two teams when it comes to the transfer fee, West Ham should be able to get this deal for the Italian over the line, especially as the Chelsea star is said to be keen on a move to the London Stadium.
