West Ham Have ‘Entered The Race’ To Sign 26 y/o Defender With ‘Lucrative’ Proposal Set To Be Tabled

West Ham are interested in signing Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer, according to TEAMtalk.

The website claims that the Hammers have “entered the race” for the 26-year-old, whose contract at Craven Cottage expires at the end of the season.

Adarabioyo is on the radar of, at least, two other Premier League teams, with Liverpool and Tottenham also said to be keen on snapping up the former Manchester City player.

However, David Moyes’ side are hoping that a “lucrative” contract offer and the prospect of regular football will tempt the centre-back into making the switch to the London Stadium this summer.

Fulham are keen to keep Adarabioyo

It is believed that the Cottagers have tabled a proposal to extend the defender’s contract beyond June, but he doesn’t seem inclined to commit his future at the moment.

That has led to other Premier League teams, including West Ham, getting involved. English sides cannot officially talk with Adarabioyo until the campaign is over, unlike foreign clubs, but it appears he will remain in this country if he does choose to move away from Fulham.

West Ham are keen to improve their options at the back

The Irons have not had a great season defensively. In the Premier League, they have conceded 56 goals in 32 games, and much of the blame has been placed at the feet of captain Kurt Zouma and his teammate Nayef Aguerd.

Both centre-halves have been linked with transfers to Saudi Arabia in recent months and if one (or both) do end up leaving, West Ham will need reinforcements.

The fact that Adarabioyo is available on a free transfer does make him a very attractive target, although many believe he would still have been pursued by other teams this summer even if his contract wasn’t set to expire.
