Journalist Confirms West Ham “Have Offered” £30M For Manchester United Transfer Target

West Ham have tabled a bid in the region of €35m (£30m) for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, according to journalist Enzo Bucchioni.

Speaking on Radio Bruno (quotes via Sport Witness), the Italian reporter said that the Hammers have made a formal proposal, but the Moroccan is not interested in making the switch to the London Stadium:

“I have a feeling that the Amrabat situation will unblock itself soon, brother and agent are trying to bring the money and choose the team for the footballer. West Ham have offered €35m but the footballer doesn’t want to replace Rice. Fiorentina does not give up and does not go below €30m. Fiorentina would gladly keep him, but by now the situation is clear and the Moroccan wants to leave.”

It should be pointed out that Bucchioni’s claims have not been backed up by sources in England but, if it is true, it seems as if David Moyes’ side are making moves in the transfer market.

There had been suggestions that the delay in Declan Rice’s move to Arsenal had hampered West Ham’s efforts to purchase players but it looks as if they were prepared to go all in on Amrabat.

The player could be holding out for Manchester United

While Amrabat may not be joining the Irons, he could still end up in England. It was reported last week that he had agreed personal terms with the Red Devils, but Erik ten Hag’s side had yet to make a bid for the player as they are pursuing other targets.

At the moment, it appears the 26-year-old has his heart set on a switch to Old Trafford but that could still change before the end of the summer.

West Ham are considering alternatives

The Hammers are reportedly locked in talks with Juventus about signing Denis Zakaria on loan. They are said to be reluctant to snap him up on a permanent basis due to his injury record.

It is believed that the London club could also pursue Ajax’s Edson Alvarez, Valencia’s Yunus Musah. Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse or potentially Everton’s Amadou Onana.
