West Ham are “ready to rival” Manchester United for the signature of Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, according to talkSPORT.
The radio station claims that the Guinean international has attracted the attention of Hammers’ technical director Tim Steidten after scoring 18 goals in just 15 appearances this season.
Despite Guirassy‘s excellent goal record, fans on X are sceptical about the club’s interest in the forward:
Absolutely no chance we go for this.

Not sure we will go for him

No no no, seen him play for my local team here in France, Rennes, nowhere near good enough for the Premier League.

We’ve got to shift players out or we will be at risk of Everton like scrutiny.

Guirassy’s release clause makes him an attractive target
It is believed that the 27-year-old will be available for just £15m during the January transfer window due to a buyout clause in his contract.
With West Ham having a limited transfer budget and needing to sell before they buy, Guirassy’s availability for such a low price would make him a viable option, especially compared to the other strikers that they have been linked with in recent weeks.
West Ham are keeping tabs on alternative strikers
The Irons have also been credited with an interest in a number of different forwards since the summer, including RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, Chelsea’s Armando Broja, Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, Paris Saint-Germain’s Hugo Ekitike and Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez.
However, all of these players would cost a great deal more than Guirassy. A bid for the Stuttgart star is, therefore, the most realistic as things stand.
