‘I’d Pay £15M To Sell Him’ ‘Never Accept The First Offer’ West Ham Fans React As David Ornstein Provides Transfer Update

Lyon has submitted a £15m bid (plus add-ons) for West Ham winger Said Benrahma, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.

The trusted journalist claims that the Hammers have not accepted the offer, but there is a feeling that the player would be interested in a switch to the Ligue One club.

Fans on X are very split on whether David Moyes’ side should agree to sell Benrahma. Some feel that the club should take the money and run, while others think that the player is worth more:

West Ham would be taking a big hit on Benrahma

After initially moving to the London Stadium on loan, the Algerian international signed on a permanent basis from Brentford in January 2021 for a fee that could rise to £30m.

It means that, if the Irons do accept the current offer on the table from Lyon, they would be selling him for half of what they paid.

Replacements for Benrahma are already being lined up

Although a deal for FC Nordsjaelland winger Ibrahim Osman has collapsed, it is believed that West Ham are weighing up a loan deal for Jota.

The former Celtic player is currently in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad, but he could return to the UK before the transfer window closes. The Portuguese forward would likely replace Benrahma if he were to leave London.
