‘Keeping A Close Eye’ – Report Claims West Ham Have Joined Arsenal And Spurs In Pursuit Of World Cup Winner

West Ham are “keeping a close eye” on Ousmane Dembele’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain, according to The Mirror.

The World Cup winner only joined the Ligue One champions from Barcelona in the summer, having secured a £50m move to the French capital back in August.

However, Dembele has struggled to impress in his first 6 games for PSG, and there is already speculation that he could be dropped, especially with the competition for places in Luis Enrique’s squad.

In addition to Kylian Mbappe, the likes of Goncalo Ramos, Marco Asensio, Bradley Barcola and Kang In Lee are all vying for spots in the front three.

If Dembele’s form doesn’t improve, and he is left on the bench for an extended period of time, he could consider a transfer to the Premier League.

West Ham won’t be the only English club pursuing Dembele

If PSG were to dispense with the services of the France international either in January or at the end of the season, the Hammers would have to fend off competition from rival Premier League teams.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Dembele, with the two sides keen to strengthen their options in wide areas.

Dembele’s wages would be a problem

The 26-year-old is currently earning £335,000 a week at PSG (according to Capology) making him the second-highest earner behind Mbappe.

Considering that the Hammers don’t pay any player above £150,000 a week, you would have to say that the chances of Dembele accepting a move to the London Stadium are very slim.

David Moyes’ side simply cannot compete on personal terms, so fans should probably not take this report too seriously, unless that is, the player is made available for loan instead.
