‘West Ham And Chelsea Have The Upper Hand’ – Report Claims PL Rivals Are Set To Fight It Out For £52M Wonderkid

West Ham and Chelsea are the frontrunners to sign Palmeiras attacking midfielder Luis Guilherme, according to PL Brasil.

The website claims that the Hammers have “met” with the Brazilian teenage sensation’s entourage, along with the Blues and Manchester United.

Discussions took place last week and it is suggested that “West Ham and Chelsea have the upper hand” in negotiations currently.

Guilherme is expected to be in Brazil’s squad for the Under 17 World Cup, which starts in Indonesia on November 10th.

Clubs are trying to get bids in for the 17-year-old before that date as they know his reputation could explode if he performs well at the tournament.

Guilherme has a very high price tag

The teenager is already said to be valued at around €60m (£52m), which is an eye-watering sum for someone who has played just 23 senior games.

It should also be noted that Guilherme has still not registered a goal or assist since making his first-team debut, although he has only started 4 matches so far.

What type of player would West Ham be getting if they sign the Brazilian starlet?

Guilherme is a no.10 by trade but he has been deployed as a right winger by both Palmeiras and Brazil at youth level

In terms of his style of play, he is technically gifted and very much at ease when dribbling, which you would expect from a young South American player.

However, despite only being 17, Guilherme can also hold his own in a physical contest, which means there is a good chance he will succeed in English football.

Combined with the fact that he has quick feet and thrives when taking on opponents one-on-one, it’s clear why there is so much excitement around the youngster.
