West Ham Add PSG Outcast To Shortlist Of Striker Targets With Loan Swoop Under Consideration

West Ham are considering whether to revive their interest in Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike, according to the West Ham Way.

The Hammers had bids rejected for the Frenchman before he joined PSG at the start of last season but they are now weighing up a loan offer for the player.

Manager David Moyes reportedly wants to bring in a new No.9, with Michail Antonio sidelined with a knee injury and Danny Ings struggling for form.

The club are relying on youngster Divin Mubama to provide backup at the moment, and there is no disputing the fact that the Irons need to add depth to the forward line when the transfer window reopens.

West Ham have considered a number of different strikers

West Ham Way claim Etitike is just one of “many forward options” that the club are targeting, with Dominic Solanke and former Chelsea striker Timo Werner also being looked at.

With Solanke, the main issue will be his price tag. It is believed that Bournemouth could demand in excess of £40m. In terms of Werner, there will be plenty of competition for the RB Leipzig player’s signature.

Fulham, Crystal Palace and Manchester United are said to have made enquiries about the German international’s availability, in addition to the Hammers.

Financial Fair Play could sway things in Ekitike’s favour

With West Ham reportedly up against it in terms of complying with FFP rules, it means a loan deal in January is a lot more likely.

That would, therefore, make a move for Ekitike the preferred choice. Other teams, including Newcastle, are said to be after the 21-year-old as well but the Irons could offer the forward a lot more game time.
