Thierry Henry Praises “Brilliant” £50M Rated PL Star Who Has Been Linked With West Ham And Arsenal

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says he is delighted to see how West Ham target Dominic Solanke has progressed as a player.

The former Chelsea and Liverpool striker has not scored regularly in the Premier League until this season, but he is now in red-hot form for Bournemouth, having hit the back of the net 12 times. Speaking about Solanke’s development, Henry said:

“Dominic Solanke, the way he is playing at Bournemouth. Not only him, the team is doing extremely well, but we have been waiting for him to be that player.”

“I guess it was a bit too much when he was younger. But what he is doing right now is brilliant. I am happy for him because he did struggle for a little bit. Now he is looking good.”

West Ham have tabled offers for Solanke in the past

The Hammers reportedly made a £40m bid to sign the England international during the summer transfer window, but their proposal was rebuffed.

With David Moyes’ side said to be keen on recruiting a new forward in January, it is been suggested that they could revive their interest in Solanke. However, Bournemouth are expected to demand in excess of £50m for their No.9.

There is competition for the striker

Not only will West Ham have issues with Solanke’s price tag, but they will also have to contend with other teams getting involved in the race for the player’s signature.

Henry’s former club Arsenal are one of those who have been linked with the 26-year-old in recent days, while it is believed that Newcastle have been keeping tabs on him as well.

It may be the case that the Irons are priced out of a move for Solanke, but they are said to have identified a number of other forwards who they may pursue instead.
