The Saints ended the 2021/22 campaign in woeful form, collecting only 40 points from their 38 fixtures, and there is a danger that trend may continue into this season.
Hasenhuttl has been close to the sack on a number of occasions in the past, following humiliating losses to Leicester and Manchester United, but he is a survivor, so we shall see if he gets his side back playing the type of football that won him many admirers.
