The Top 5 Premier League Stars In The ‘2024 Football Instagram Rich List’

Top footballers already earn a considerable amount of money from the wages they are given by their clubs.

However, by agreeing to endorse certain products, they can stand to earn many times the figures they receive from football alone.

Instagram is one revenue stream that footballers look to exploit by sanctioning sponsored posts on their accounts.

Press the next page as we look at the 5 Premier League players with the biggest earning potential on the social media platform (based on data from Football Finest’s ‘2024 Instagram Rich List’).

5) Julian Alvarez – £39,192 cost per sponsored post

The Argentinian international has nearly 16m followers on Instagram, with an average of over 800,000 likes per post.

That means his engagement rate is at around 5.15%, which could help him earn almost £40,000 per sponsored post.

Alvarez sits just above another Premier League player, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, in the rich list.

The forward is 17th in the top 20 footballers for potential Instagram earnings.

4) Kevin De Bruyne – £62,843

The Belgian could earn almost twice as much from sponsored posts on Instagram on average than his teammate Alvarez.

De Bruyne has just over 25m followers, with an average of 1.8m likes on each of his posts.

That gives him an engagement rate of around 7.14%, helping him to increase his earnings when it comes to sponsored posts.

The midfielder is 12th in the world when we look at a footballer’s earning potential on Instagram.

3) Erling Haaland – £94,090

The 23-year-old is the third Manchester City player to make our top 5 and he has the potential to earn a considerable amount from sponsored posts on Instagram.

Haaland has nearly 38m followers, averaging 839,900 likes per post. That is significantly below De Bruyne’s average, which means the Norwegian’s engagement rate is only 2.23%.

However, due to the sheer number of followers he has, the striker has greater reach, meaning he can earn close to £100,000 per post.

Haaland is 8th among the top 20 footballers across the world in terms of Instagram earnings.

2) Mo Salah – £158,160

The Egyptian has a global following, having a staggering 63.5m followers on Instagram alone.

However, Salah’s average likes per post is only 696,600 which consequently means his engagement rate is only 1.10%

For that reason, the Liverpool forward wouldn’t earn a significant amount more than Haaland per sponsored post, despite having almost double the number of followers.

Salah is 5th in the world when it comes to how much he could earn from Instagram.

1) Bukayo Saka – £233,390

The Arsenal star finishes top of our list, with Football Finest claiming that he has the potential to earn substantially more from sponsored posts than any other Premier League player.

Saka has just under 6m followers on Instagram, which is a lot less than the likes of Salah, Haaland, De Bruyne and even Alvarez.

Yet, his engagement levels are very high (5.14%) and the fact that he is an England player means he can earn a sizeable amount from sponsors on Instagram.

Saka is fourth in the world, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, when it comes to potential Instagram earnings.
