West Ham defender Winston Reid was pictured taking part in training yesterday by the club’s official Twitter account.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini has previously stated that the New Zealander isn’t expected to return from a knee injury before the end of the season. However, it seems Reid is indeed on the road to recovery:

Fans on Twitter are happy to see the 30-year-old back on the training pitch:
Thought he was dead tbh

He is looking good . Another who will save as money if/ when he regains his form . A real nice guy who got injured putting his body on the line for us . Not like others ⚒️

He’s alive

Some, though, question whether he’ll be able to get back into the starting eleven ahead of the likes of Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena and Angelo Ogbonna:
So you’d have him starting over Balbuena and/or Diop? Too injury prone, even before this injury, he wasn’t the player he was. Move him on.

Great to see him back. Been a great servant to West Ham. I can’t see him getting in the starting 11 though!

Good squad addition but doubt he'll play a big part however always nice to see a west ham player back #COYI

It’s difficult to tell how far off Reid is away from making his return to full fitness. The centre-back has been out of action for almost a year.
His last game for the Hammers was the 4-1 defeat to Swansea last March when he had to be taken off just 27 minutes into the game. Since then, he has been going through rehab after undergoing surgery back in July.
