West Ham have reportedly joined a host of Premier League teams pursuing the signature of Hoffenheim left-back David Raum.
The likes of Manchester United, Newcastle, Manchester City and Liverpool are also said to be keeping tabs on the German international, who could fetch a fee between €30m (£26m) and €40m (€34m).
Hammers supporters on Twitter would love to see Raum move to the London Stadium but most don’t believe that the 24-year-old would be a realistic target:
This would be fantastic but I don’t see it happening

We’re not going to spend £34m on a LB. It just ain’t happening #whufc

Better get a move on…Newcastle will jump on this

3.4m and we would be mulling an offer over

It'd genuinely be quite a coup were we to get him. If that's the price then we should at least pull out all the stops to try to get him. This lad is absolute top-notch.

£30m odd for Aguerd means we'll shut up shop. Won't sign a single other player unlees it's for £3m or a loan

After splashing out £30m on Nayef Aguerd, you can’t see West Ham spending a similar amount on another player unless the club raises more funds through sales first.
Raum provided 11 assists in 32 league appearances for Hoffenheim last season so he would definitely be an excellent choice to compete with Aaron Cresswell on the left-hand side of defence. It could be a transfer that is revisited later in the summer.
