West Ham are set to make a third attempt to sign Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey when the transfer window reopens, according to reports in the UK.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a switch to the Hammers in the last two summers, and fans on Twitter are getting a bit tired of the club being linked with the player:
This rumour is like an annual event that comes around every year ?

Shelvey is a West Ham supporter, which is likely one of the reasons why he gets mentioned as a possible target for the Irons so often.
However, the Magpies star only signed a new contract in March, keeping him at St James’ Park until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
Probably the only realistic possibility of him moving clubs this summer is if Newcastle’s prospective new owners embark on a huge overhaul of the playing squad, leaving Shelvey surplus to requirements.
Even then, the Irons are unlikely to have much to spend so a loan deal would probably be the only likely option.
