The TOP FIVE ‘Highest Valued Squads’ At The 2022 World Cup

With every country having confirmed their squads ahead of the start of the World Cup next weekend, it is now possible to work out the value of each team heading out to Qatar.

The nations on our list won’t come as a surprise to many, but it is interesting to note that Germany and Argentina don’t make the top five.

The valuations for each squad have been calculated by Sportingpedia.com, with the five most expensive teams coming in at above the €900m mark.

Press the next page as we count down the “highest valued squads” who will be at the World Cup.

5) Spain – €902M

Barcelona pair Pedri and Gavi are worth a combined €190m, while Manchester City’s Rodri is also valued at €80m, so their midfield is certainly packed with talent.

Going into the tournament, though, there are still question marks about their strikers, with manager Luis Enrique having selected the likes of Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Paris Saint-Germain’s Pablo Sarabia.

4) Portugal – €923M

City duo Bernardo Silva (€80m) and Ruben Dias (€75m) are the two Portuguese players with the highest valuations, along with Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (€75m).

The biggest issue with Portugal’s squad is that they have a number of players in their thirties, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe and Rui Patricio.

3) France – €1066M

The French squad is worth over €100m more than Portugal’s and some of that can be attributed to Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, who is valued at €160m alone.

They are far from a one-man band, though, with Didier Deschamps’s squad full of exciting young talent, including the likes of Arsenal’s William Saliba and Real Madrid pair Eduardo Camavinga & Aurelien Tchouameni.

2) Brazil – €1137M

Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo are the two highest valued players in the Brazilian team, with the former worth €120m and the latter €80m.

Tite’s men are the favourites to win the competition with most bookmakers, although they are surprisingly not the most expensive squad assembled for Qatar…

1) England – €1260M

The Three Lions are miles ahead of the chasing pack when it comes to the value of their players heading out for the World Cup. Some may argue, though, that some of these players have inflated prices.

Phi Foden is valued at an incredible €110m while Jude Bellingham is not too far behind on €100m. Manager Gareth Southgate certainly has a wealth of talent at his disposal.
