The TOP FIVE Highest Paid Left Wingers In The Premier League

Following our look at the best paid right wingers in England’s top flight last week, we now move on to the other side of the pitch.

With most teams in the Premier League playing a version of the 4-3-3 system, wingers play more like strikers so their contributions in terms of goals and assists are more akin to traditional forwards.

Their value in the modern game has, therefore, shot up and when it comes to salaries, they are among the most well-rewarded in professional football.

Press the next page as we go through the top five highest earning left wingers in the Premier League (based on data from Capology.com).

5) Son Heung-min – Tottenham – £190K A Week

The South Korean international won the Golden Boot back in May but he has looked like a pale shadow of his former self so far this season.

Son has scored in just two games; a hat-trick against Leicester in September and a brace versus Eintracht Frankfurt last month. Much more is expected of the 30-year-old, who has (on the whole) been outstanding during his seven years in London.

4) Marcus Rashford – Manchester United – £200K A Week

The 24-year-old’s contract is actually set to expire next summer. United do have an option for an extra year but they will be looking to offer him fresh terms so he commits his long-term future to the club.

Rashford looks like he is keen to win himself a new deal with his performances this season, having bagged seven goals in 15 matches so far.

3) Jack Grealish – Manchester City – £300K A Week

The £100m signing from Aston Villa has not exactly set the world alight over the past year, but there have been some green shoots this campaign which will give City fans cause for optimism that he could still be a good purchase.

Just one goal and no assists in 13 appearances suggest, though, there is still a way to go for Grealish to justify his high wages and price tag.

2) Raheem Sterling – Chelsea – £325K A Week

After a decent start to his time at Stamford Bridge, the 27-year-old’s form has deserted him in recent weeks, leading to question marks over his place in England’s first XI for the World Cup.

It doesn’t help that manager Graham Potter has been playing Sterling out of position as a wingback but we shall see if he recovers his performance levels in upcoming fixtures.

1) Jadon Sancho – Manchester United – £350K A Week

The 22-year-old has not lived up to expectations since moving to Old Trafford in 2021. Despite the odd good performance, he doesn’t look like the same player who ripped apart defences at Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho is on an extremely high wage at United and he certainly needs to do more to justify what the Manchester club have spent on him.
