The Player With The Highest Transfer Value At Every Premier League Club (Part 2)

Enzo Fernandez

In a series of posts, we are profiling the players with the highest transfer value at all 20 Premier League teams.

After going through our first five a couple of weeks ago, we now move on to our second five.

For these articles, we are using data sourced from the CIES Football Observatory, who have used a statistical model to come up with the transfer values of footballers across the world.

Press the next page as we list the most valuable players at Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham and Leeds.

Chelsea – Enzo Fernandez (€80m)

Chelsea invested a huge sum of money when the Argentinian international joined from Benfica in January.

A club record £107m transfer fee is a lot to live up to and it remains to be seen whether Fernandez meets expectations.

The 22-year-old has, arguably, not been deployed in his favoured position during his time at the Blues so far, having been asked to play as a no.6.

We should get a better gauge of his performance levels at the start of his first full season in England.

Crystal Palace – Marc Guehi (€40m)

The £18m that Crystal Palace paid Chelsea for the centre-back two years ago seems like a bargain now.

Guehi is a leader for the Eagles, despite his young age, and he has formed a good partnership with Joachim Andersen in the centre of the Eagles’ defence.

He is being scouted by a number of other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

It would, therefore, not be a surprise if he leaves Selhurst Park this summer.

Everton – Amadou Onana (€30m)

The Toffees beat West Ham to the Belgian international’s signatures last summer.

It is fair to say that Onana has had his ups and downs during his first season in the Premier League.

While he has started 28 league games, his performances have been inconsistent, which isn’t completely surprising for a 21-year-old.

If the Merseysiders are relegated, plenty of rival Premier League teams are likely to pursue his signature.

Fulham – Aleksandar Mitrovic (€20m)

The Serbian is now a consistent performer at the top level and his value could arguably be higher.

Having broken Championship records for the Cottagers last season, Mitrovic has been in the goals once again this campaign.

The 28-year-old would likely have more than 14 Premier League goals if he hadn’t been suspended for eight games for pushing referee Chris Kavanagh.

Bigger clubs than Fulham may well be tempted to make an offer for the Serbian international in the coming weeks.

Leeds – Wilfried Gnonto (€30m)

The Yorkshire club paid just £4m for the Italian international when he arrived from FC Zurich last year.

Gnonto has had a good first season in English football, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 27 appearances for Leeds.

The vultures are circling, though, with the Whites on the precipice of relegation from the top flight.

Many of the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ clubs could be tempted into making an offer for the 19-year-old.
