The perfect Hart beat for West Ham’s backline

Joe Hart must be wondering what the future holds for him and more importantly where did it all go wrong. Very much England and Manchester City’s No.1 this time last year, nothing would have suggested anything other than good times ahead, before the indignity of being thrown on the scrapheap by Pep Guardiola. A move to Torino didn’t exactly go to plan – as Hart was voted as the keeper in the worst Serie A team of the season.

Fast forward 12 months and the suggestion is that there are very few potential destinations for Joe Hart to move to this summer. With Everton signing Jordan Pickford and Liverpool ruling out bringing in a keeper, it appears that West Ham is the only club that really offers Hart the opportunity to resume his Premier League career. To be honest it is time that Bilic moved on from Randolph and Adrian and look to bring in a top class goalkeeper to the London Stadium.

Whilst Hart would probably be holding out for a club in Europe, the stark reality is none of those sides are really in need of a keeper. The Hammers are incredibly ambitious and Bilic knows more than most the need to build a strong spine to a West Ham side that were letting in goals for fun last season. Hart as well as being a top class keeper is also a leader at the back – something that the likes of Winston Reid and James Collins has needed for a long time.

It will be a statement signing for the Irons and show the rest of the Premier League that they mean business this season. Whether Gold and Sullivan can get the deal over the line remains to be seen; however, it will certainly prove something of a coup to sign up England’s no.1. They should look to get in quickly as it is an opportunity that the Hammers shouldn’t look to pass up.
