The Most Promising Teenager At EVERY Premier League Club PART ONE

It wasn’t long ago that pundits and journalists were complaining about the lack of talent coming through the academies at English clubs.

In recent years, however, there has been an explosion in terms of the number of promising youngsters who are breaking through to play regularly in the Premier League.

Today, we start a series of posts looking at the best talents who could well be on the cusp of becoming first-team players at their respective teams.

Press the next page as we list the most promising teenagers at every top-flight club (starting with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brentford and Brighton).

Arsenal – Omari Hutchinson

The 18-year-old has yet to make his senior debut for the Gunners but he is very close to doing so, based on his performances at youth level.

In the EFL Trophy this season, Hutchinson has scored twice in four appearances while, for the Under 23s, he has bagged five goals and laid on five assists in only 13 Premier League League 2 games. The teenager generally plays as an attacking midfielder but he can also be deployed as a winger.

Aston Villa – Carney Chukwuemeka

The England Under 19 international already has 11 first-team appearances to his name, and he got his first assist in the 2-0 win against Norwich back in December.

Chukwuemeka is out of contract at the end of next season, and a host of clubs will surely be keeping an eye on the midfielder’s situation at Villa.

Brentford – Fin Stevens

The fullback was playing for Worthing in the Isthmian League Premier Division just eighteen months ago but he has now made nine senior appearances for the Bees.

Stevens was released by Arsenal at the age of 16, but he has quickly found his way back to the Premier League, making his top-flight debut as a second-half substitute in Brentford’s 4-1 defeat to Southampton last month.

Brighton – Haydon Roberts

After Lewis Dunk and Ben White, it appears that the Seagulls are making a habit of developing talented homegrown centre-backs, with Roberts the latest to make it through the academy.

The 19-year-old has already had a loan spell at Rochdale in League One last season, and he has come back to the Amex this campaign to feature for Brighton in the domestic cups. Dan Burn’s departure to Newcastle could well lead to the defender getting more minutes in the coming months.
