West Ham are interested in Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama, according to reports in the UK.
The Kenyan international has hardly featured this campaign and could be one of a number of players who will be offloaded by Spurs in the January transfer window.
Mousa Dembele, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente and Michel Vorm could all leave in the clear out.
Supporters on Twitter think a move for Wanyama would be a good idea but many don’t think it will happen:
They won’t deal with us just like we won’t deal with them….however he is exactly the central midfielder we crave

He’s another sick note, good player though

Won’t happen. Spuds tried to rip us off one time too many

I think if the price is right then a deal could be done. Don’t forget Husillos does the dealings now.

Wanyama would be a lowkey good buy for West Ham/Everton/Wolves/Bournemouth https://t.co/CcSD3Ywcjq

No thanks.

He would be if he wasn’t crippled with injuries.

Wanyama was a regular in his first season at White Hart Lane. He signed from Southampton for £11m in 2016 and played 47 games during the 16/17 campaign. However, a succession of knee injuries have curtailed his playing time over the last two years.
With the Hammers squad already hit by a number of long-term injuries, a move for another injury prone player would certainly be a risk. If he could stay fit though, he could prove to be an important addition.
