The Athletic Journalist Makes Surprising Claim About West Ham’s Pursuit Of 30M Rated Chelsea Star

West Ham are still “working hard to convince” Chelsea into selling Armando Broja, according to The Athletic‘s Liam Twomey.

The website’s Blues correspondent claims that the Hammers could still secure the Albanian international’s services on a permanent basis.

It had been assumed that the London club’s decision to go ahead with a deal to sign Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo would lead to them pulling out of the race for Broja.

West Ham are believed to have put a £30m bid on the table for the Chelsea player so it appears that manager David Moyes could well be prepared to shell out around £65m on the pair of them.

Considering the Irons have not signed a forward since selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax over eighteen months ago, it would be a huge surprise if two came in through the door within a matter of weeks.

Chelsea have yet to decide on whether to offload Broja, despite suggestions that the player is very keen to leave Stamford Bridge.
