Sky Sports Pundit Predicts Pellegrini “Could Be Sacked” Depending On Result Against Spurs

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas believes West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini could be one game away from the sack if his side are on the wrong end of a bad defeat against Tottenham tomorrow.

The Hammers head into the match having not won in the last six league games, while Spurs have a new manager in Jose Mourinho at the helm with players keen to impress their new head coach. Nicholas can see a scenario where Pellegrini could face the axe:

“West Ham love to turn Tottenham over more than any of the London clubs and there is something about the hostility between the two of these sides. Manuel Pellegrini is under serious pressure and could be sacked with a heavy defeat.”

This West Ham side generally rise to the occasion for big games, as we saw earlier in the season when they won 2-0 at home to Manchester United.

Tottenham do, though, have some better players than the Red Devils but it will be a derby atmosphere, and it should push the Irons to increase their performance levels.

If they do suffer a heavy loss, though, the pressure would be huge on Pellegrini with the fanbase demanding answers about the direction the club is heading.
