Sky Sports pundit hails West Ham’s summer business

Arsenal legend and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has praised the transfer business conducted by West Ham this summer, saying that the club have ‘put their money where their mouth is’.

The Hammers made ten major signings this summer, splashing out over £100m and smashing their previous record for transfer fee paid when they signed Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson for a whopping £35m.

Their signings this summer represent a potential new chapter at the club, hopefully spelling an end to their dismal campaign last season where they narrowly avoided relegation and saw their own fans turn on the club.

With striker Javier Hernandez declaring that the Hammers can finish in the top four this season, it really is an exciting time for the club.

And former Gunners star Paul Merson has echoed those positive comments by Chicharito, saying that he likes the business Pellegrini and co have done.

“They’ve had a go,” he said via Sky Sports.

“They’ve got Jack Wilshere on a free and people are wondering if he’ll stay fit but you’ll be surprised by how many games he plays.

“I like their business, they’ve put their money where their mouth is this time around and brought in a better quality of player.

“There are a couple of players who will need time to settle, they’re coming from places where the football is a lot different. Lukasz Fabianski was great last season and I like their business.”
