Sky Reporter Names The Club That Is “Willing To Pay” £86M For Declan Rice

Bayern Munich are “willing to pay” €100m (£86m) for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

The England international has been heavily linked with a number of other Premier League clubs but Plettenberg believes the Bundesliga champions are set to get involved in the transfer battle:

Whether £86m will be enough for the Hammers to sell up, it is doubtful, but it may begin a bidding war that could lead to a team paying over £100m for Rice.

Up until now, Arsenal have been labelled as the favorites for the 24-year-old’s signature, with Chelsea and Manchester United trailing the Gunners. However, the involvement of Bayern will throw the cat among the pigeons.

Tuchel is said to be a big fan of Rice

Bayern’s interest in the West Ham captain is believed to be at the behest of their manager Thomas Tuchel.

It has even been claimed that the German has phoned up Rice in order to persuade the midfielder to make the switch to the Allianz Arena. If true, that would be classed as tapping up, but it does seem like Bayern may go all in to secure the player’s services.
