Simon Jordan Lashes Out At Claims That West Ham Can Sell Star Player For 100M

Former Crystal Palace owner turned pundit Simon Jordan has questioned West Ham manager David Moyes’ valuation of Declan Rice.

Although Jordan doesn’t explicitly mention the England international, he criticized talkSPORT presenter Jim White for continuing to claim that the Hammers have a player worth £100m:

“The issue with West Ham…let’s be clear about this nonsense you [Jim White] keep trotting out about David Moyes saying he’s got a £100million player. He hasn’t got a £100million player because if he’s got a £100million player someone would be bidding £100milllion for him and they would be selling him. If West Ham are the only people in the room who value him at that then he’s not one is he.”

It’s a strange comment by Jordan. The fact is, Rice is worth £100m to West Ham so it is irrelevant what other teams value him at.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are now expected to wait until next summer before making any formal approach for the 22-year-old, which will come as a huge relief to West Ham supporters.

Some reports suggest that the reason behind these clubs delaying their move is because they hope to get Rice for a lower price in a year’s time. That is highly unlikely if, as expected, the midfielder continues to put in great performances, as he did against Newcastle yesterday.
