West Ham have are one of three clubs who are interested in signing Brighton left-back Bernardo on loan, according to reports in the English media.
Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir have already entered talks with the Seagulls about the Brazilian, while the Hammers and Newcastle are also thought to be in the running for the player’s signature.
Manager David Moyes is on the lookout for a new first-choice left-back, with both Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku having performed poorly last season, but fans on Twitter don’t think Bernardo is the answer:
Cresswell is shocking but I’d actually say he is better than Bernardo. Shocking signing #GSBOUT

Signing players not wanted by Brighton is not next level football, we could have signed up playing at Upton Park.#GSBOUT

It must be pointed that Bernardo slipped behind 6ft 7 centre-half Dan Burn in the pecking order for the left-back spot at Brighton last season, which gives you an indicator of the Brazilian fullback’s abilities.
The lack of transfer funds has become a major frustration among supporters who have also been left angered by the decision to sell Grady Diangana to West Brom.
