Serie A Side Enter Race To Sign West Ham Midfield Enforcer

Bologna are interested in signing West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang, according to reports in the Italian media.

Fiorentina and Sampdoria were previously linked with a move for the 27-year-old but it appears a third Serie A side have now entered the fray.

Obiang is, however, not Bologna’s primary target currently. The Italian club are said to be interested in Sassuolo midfielder Alfred Duncan but his valuation is proving to be a stumbling block.

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side may, though, turn their attentions towards the Hammers midfielder if they can’t persuade Sassuolo to lower their asking price.

Obiang could well be offloaded this summer as the club looks to free up funds for other signings.

The Spanish born player made 29 appearances for West Ham last season, but the emergence of Declan Rice meant he started just 17 times in all competitions.

Obiang has spent most of his career in Italy and he has been consistently linked with a return to the country.
