Serie A Giants’ Planned Swoop For United Star Could Pave Way For £30m Rated West Ham Target To Leave

AC Milan’s pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic could lead to West Ham target Franck Kessie leaving the San Siro, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian newspaper reports that the likes of the Hammers, Wolves, Arsenal and Tottenham have a long-standing interest in the Ivorian, but the Rossoneri will only part ways with the midfielder if they can secure a deal for Matic.

The Serbian is out of contract in the summer but Milan will be battling their city rivals Inter for his signature. United do have an option to extend the 31-year-old’s current deal for a further year so that may also complicate any move going ahead.

With regards to Kessie, though, Milan are reportedly holding out for a fee between €30m (£25.7m) and €35m (£30m), which may be well out of West Ham’s price range.

It has been claimed that manager Manuel Pellegrini will not be handed any additional funds to spend in the January transfer window.
