Serie A Giants Have ‘No Intention’ of Selling £27m Rated Forward After Rejecting Enquiry From West Ham

Lazio have rejected an enquiry from West Ham for centre-forward Joaquin Correa, according to Calciomercato.com. The website reports that the Serie A side have “no intention” of selling the 25-year-old.

The Hammers do have previous dealings with the Biancocelesti, following the £36m purchase of Felipe Anderson in the summer of 2018, but it doesn’t appear they will be repeating the trick with Correa.

Transfermarkt value the Argentinian international at £27.45m, and while that valuation may depreciate in the current market, it still seems to be a lot of money considering the player’s performances for Lazio.

Despite playing regularly as a second striker, Correa has managed to score just 17 goals and provide 10 assists in 71 games since his arrival from Sevilla two years ago.

On that evidence, the forward looks overpriced and, considering West Ham are unlikely to have much money to spend anyway, a move for the Argentine wouldn’t seem to be worthwhile.
