“Rubbish” Transfer Insider ExWHUemployee Relays What He’s Been Told About West Ham’s Interest In 60M Rated Striker

West Ham have not even considered making a move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to ExWHUemployee.

The transfer insider was speaking about the speculation that the Hammers were interested in signing the England international when he revealed what an inside source had told him about a potential bid for the player:

“I went to the top source yesterday and I said, ‘Dominic Calvert-Lewin, tell me is it true or not? I need to manage fans’ expectations’. Because a £60m bid for an England international forward is something to get excited about. I think that’s probably too much for him, in my eyes, but I would be happy if we signed him. But I was told: ‘Rubbish, the manager has never mentioned that name before and I don’t think Everton would sell’.”

It’s not a surprising comment, to be honest with you. Everton are expected to keep hold of Calvert-Lewin this month, as they don’t want to lose their top striker whilst they are involved in a relegation scrap.

That means the £60m figure is likely to be legitimate, which would put him well outside West Ham’s price range. You also have to consider the competition for the 24-year-old’s signature.

Arsenal are said to be keen on Calvert-Lewin and, with other reports this morning suggesting he’d be more open to a switch to the Emirates, the prospect of the forward moving to the Irons instead looks even less likely.
