Romano Names West Ham And Palace As He Claims “Many” Clubs Are Looking To Snap Up Bargain Arsenal Star

West Ham and Crystal Palace are just two of the “many” teams who are looking to sign Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah on a free transfer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 22-year-old’s current deal at the Emirates expires in June but the Gunners haven’t had much luck in extending his contract. Writing in his column for Caught Offside, Romano claimed the striker is attracting a lot of interest:

“Arsenal want him to stay and have been trying to extend his contract for months. Nketiah will decide at the end of the current season, but the proposals he is receiving are many: West Ham and Crystal Palace have been interested for months, but keep an eye on Bundesliga clubs that are ready to offer an important contract and, above all, a guaranteed regular starter position. We will see if Arsenal will be able to change his mind.”

Nketiah has been in great form in recent weeks, having scored four goals in his last four league appearances, but manager Mikel Arteta had barely used him, up until recently.

It appears that Nketiah is not convinced that he will be given more game time next campaign, especially if Arsenal do, as expected, sign a new striker.

Whether West Ham will step up their pursuit in the former England Under 21 international, we shall have to wait and see. The Hammers have also been pursuing a number of other options to strengthen their forward line, including Chelsea’s Armando Broja and Benfica’s Darwin Nunez.
