Rival Emerges In West Ham’s Attempts To Sign £15m Rated French Midfield Enforcer

Torino are set to battle West Ham for Udinese midfielder Seko Fofana, according to Tuttosport. The Italian newspaper reports the Serie A club will offer Soualiho Meite in a part-exchange bid for the Frenchman.

The Turn-based side are reportedly unable to match Udinese’s €18m (£15m) asking price without including a player in the deal, so it does leave an opening if the Hammers are interested in signing the 24-year-old before the end of January.

At the moment,  it is believed the London club’s efforts are focused on agreeing a deal for Slavia Prague midfielder Tomas Soucek. They are looking to snap up the Czech on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for around €12.5m (£10.5m).

With Fofana being the more expensive option, it looks as though the former Manchester City academy player may only become a target for the Irons if a move falls through for Soucek before the window shuts.
