West Ham are not interested in Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi, according to Claret & Hugh. The Hammers have been linked with a bid for the Belgian in recent days but the website claims an insider branded the rumours “completely stupid.”
A number of newspapers have been mentioning the London Stadium as a potential destination for the forward, who is destined to leave following Chelsea’s agreement to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.
However, it was reported that the Blues would demand £40m for Batshuayi despite his struggles in front of goal for the London club.
With West Ham having looked at the player in the past, it was thought that they may re-enter the race for the 26-year-old. But, the player is no longer on the club’s radar, and even if he were, Chelsea’s new asking price would have ruled out any deal.
The Irons are not in the best financial state due to the impact of the global health crisis, with any transfers likely to be funded by player sales.
