REPORT: West Ham United Interested In Championship Winger And Former Manchester United Target

West Ham United are believed to be interested in Watford winger Ismaila Sarr, according to a report from French sports media outlet Jeunes Footeux.

West Ham have attempted to sign Sarr previously, in the summer of 2021 – however, their bumper £40 million bid was rejected by the Hornets.

Despite this, Sarr could now be available for under half of this original price. Jeunes Footeux reports that the Senegalese winger could be available for as little as £17 million – but the Hammers aren’t the only ones who want to bring him on board.

Who else, besides West Ham, is interested in Ismaila Sarr?

Aside from West Ham, Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest are also thought to be linked with Sarr. Forest have become infamous for their profligate spending in over the last season – as such, it would not be surprising to see them add yet another highly-rated attacking player to their ever-expanding ranks.

Additionally, Manchester United were previously interested in the player – however, they have not been linked with a move since the summer of 2022. As such, their interest in the player can confidently be chalked off at this stage.

Ismaila Sarr career summary

Ismaila Sarr’s youth career began at Génération Foot in his native Senegal – he joined the academy at the age of eleven. After seven years with them, he was snapped up by FC Metz in 2016.

He scored five goals in 31 appearances for Metz – from there, he subsequently signed for Rennes the following year. His successful stint with Les Rennais saw him headhunted by Watford, who signed him in 2019 for a reported fee of around £30 million.

At Watford, Sarr has grown from strength to strength – so far, he has scored 33 goals in 128 games for them. He has been touted for a move away from Vicarage Road for years – could this be the summer where he finally departs?
