REPORT: West Ham Star Is Manchester United’s ‘Priority’ Summer Target With Bid Set To Be Lodged

West Ham vice-captain Declan Rice is Manchester United’s “priority” summer target, according to the Evening Standard.

The newspaper claims that Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the England international, but it is believed that the Red Devils will be the first team to make a formal offer for the midfielder.

Rice will not press to leave the London Stadium, and with the Hammers likely to demand in excess of £100m for the 22-year-old, his departure from the club is not inevitable.

However, while United have not made contact with West Ham so far, that will likely change in the coming weeks as the Manchester club look to make changes to their first-team squad.

Whether Jesse Lingard will be used in any bid, we shall have to wait and see. It is believed that the Irons won’t countenance part exchange offers for Rice but it may not stop United from trying their luck.
