REPORT: West Ham Make Contact About Signing £30m Rated Iranian Ace Who Has Been Compared To Messi

West Ham and Leicester are currently in discussions with Zenit St Petersburg about signing forward Sardar Azmoun, according to AreaNapoli.it.

The Italian website says Napoli will have to move fast if they want to sign the Iranian international, with both the Hammers and the Foxes having had a head start in negotiations for the player.

Azmoun has been labelled the Iranian Messi by some observers in the past, and he’s been linked heavily with Liverpool over the last few years.

The 25-year-old has been at Zenit for just 15 months, having made the switch from Rubin Kazan in February 2019. He has had a very good season, having scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 29 appearances.

AreaNapoli.it report that Zenit could hold out for as much as €35m (£30m) for Azmoun due to the competition for the forward, but there is hope he could be available for a rather more modest €15m (£13m).
