REPORT: West Ham Looking To Pay £13m To Secure Deal For French Ace

West Ham are willing to pay up to €15m (£13m) for Marseille midfielder Maxime Lopez. according to AreaNapoli.it.

The Italian website reports that Marseille have set an asking price of €20m (£17.7m) but the Frenchman’s contract situation means clubs are offering below that amount.

Aston Villa have reportedly tabled a €12m (£10.6m) bid while the Hammers and Sevilla have offered a few million euros more in order to secure Lopez’s services.

The 22-year-old’s current deal expires in 2021 and, combined with the global health emergency putting financial pressure on clubs, Marseille could be forced to sell for below their price tag.

AreaNapoli.it reports that Napoli are also interested but they have made “no concrete steps” to sign Lopez, unlike West Ham, Sevilla and Villa.

Sevilla are said to be the favourites for the player’s signature at this point in time, with the midfielder reportedly interested in a move to Spain, but that could still change.
