REPORT: West Ham ‘Leading The Queue’ To Sign 17M Rated Nigerian Colossus Following Agent Talks

West Ham are “leading the queue” to snap up Racing Genk striker Paul Onuachu, according to Own Goal Nigeria.

The website claims that the Hammers held talks with the 6ft 7 forward’s agent last week, with a transfer fee having been discussed at the meeting.

Genk reportedly want €20m (£17m) for Onuachu (which includes €15m upfront and €5m in add-ons), while the Hammers are believed to value the Nigerian international closer to €15m (£13m).

There is clearly very little difference between the two sides in terms of price, so if West Ham do make an offer for the 27-year-old this summer, there is a good chance that they will be able to get the deal over the line.

It must be said that there are other Premier League clubs interested in Onuachu. Earlier this week, it was reported that Arsenal had entered the race for the striker, along with newly promoted Watford.
