REPORT: West Ham Have Contacted The Agents Of Haitian Midfield Maestro

West Ham have been in touch with the representatives of Strasbourg midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, according to Foot Mercato.

The French website claims that both the Hammers and Crystal Palace have made contact with the Haitian star’s agents in recent days to gauge whether the player would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

Bellegarde can play in multiple positions. He has been utilised as a holding midfielder, a central midfielder, on the left-wing, on the right-wing and even as a support striker this season.

His adaptability is likely one of the major reasons why West Ham manager David Moyes is considering a move for the 22-year-old during the January transfer window.

Bellegarde doesn’t really offer much in the final third of the pitch, having scored just one goal during his 18 months at Strasbourg, but he could add extra depth to an area where the Irons could do with having an extra body or two.
