REPORT: West Ham Are ‘Plotting A Daring Bid’ To Sign Chelsea Midfielder Ahead Of 2 PL Rivals

West Ham are “plotting a daring bid” to recruit Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on loan before the transfer window shuts, according to The Mirror.

The tabloid claims that manager David Moyes has identified the England international as a key target to add some energy and dynamism in the middle of the park.

It is believed that Newcastle and Crystal Palace are also hoping to sign Gallagher, but the final decision will ultimately come down to Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

The Blues currently have limited options in midfield. Mateo Kovacic has a recurring knee problem, while N’Golo Kante is expected to be sidelined for a month with a hamstring injury.

However, Gallagher may feel that another temporary move away from Stamford Bridge would be better for his development. Kante and Kovacic are both ahead of him in the pecking order and he is unlikely to be a regular starter once they return to fitness.
