REPORT: West Ham Are One Of 5 PL Clubs Who Have Had Enquiry Knocked Back For Man United Star

West Ham have failed in an attempt to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, according to 90min.com.

The website claims that the Hammers made an enquiry for the Scottish international, along with four other Premier League clubs.

Everton, Southampton, Leicester and Leeds have also registered their interest in McTominay but they have all been told that the 26-year-old is “not available” this month.

It is believed that McTominay is not angling for a move away from Old Trafford despite having not started a Premier League game since early October.

With Declan Rice’s future at the club remaining uncertain, West Ham’s interest in the midfielder is not entirely surprising, but manager David Moyes may be looking to strengthen his options in the middle of the park anyway.

It should be pointed out that the Irons tried and failed to recruit Amadou Onana and Matheus Nunes last summer, so signing a new holding midfield player is likely to be still on the agenda.
