REPORT: Rob Newman Was In The Stands To See 25M Rated West Ham Target In Action On Tuesday

West Ham’s Head of Recruitment Rob Newman was present to watch Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott as the Robins lost 3-0 to Manchester City on Tuesday night, according to the Daily Mail.

The Hammers are believed to be weighing up a summer bid for the 19-year-old, who has been compared to both David Beckham and Jack Grealish.

Scott does have a pretty steep asking price, with Bristol City demanding upwards of £25m for the player, which is a sizeable sum considering he has only made 81 senior appearances.

In addition to the Hammers, Newcastle, Tottenham, Everton, Brighton and Bournemouth have also been keeping tabs on the teenager, while Wolves could also return to the negotiating table after having bids knocked back in January.

Scott can play a number of roles in central midfield, having been deployed as anchor man, a no.8 and as a no.10 by manager Nigel Pearson. A Premier League switch does seem inevitable but it remains to be seen whether he will end up at the London Stadium.
