REPORT: Premier League Rival Set To Beat West Ham To Inter Star

West Ham could lose out to Newcastle for Inter Milan winger Valentino Lazaro, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

He claims that the Magpies have agreed a loan deal with an option to buy the 23-year-old, and the Austrian international’s agent has travelled to the UK in order to discuss personal terms.

Lazaro only joined Inter from Hertha Berlin in July but has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular under manager Antonio Conte, having started just four matches in all competitions this season.

The Austrian can also play as a right-back or as a wing-back and the Hammers were most likely looking at the player in order to provide some cover for Ryan Fredericks.

The fullback is expected to be sidelined for at least two months with a hamstring injury, leaving manager David Moyes with veteran defender Pablo Zabaleta as his only real option on the right-hand side.
