Reliable Journalist Confirms West Ham Are In “Pole Position” To Sign Former Chelsea And Arsenal Target

West Ham are in “pole position” to sign former Borussia Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou on a free transfer, according to RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins.

The trusted French journalist, who has broken some big transfer stories this summer, claims Lyon are also interested in the 23-year-old but the Hammers are firm favourites to secure the player’s services:

Zagadou has been watched by a number of Premier League clubs over the past couple of years, including Chelsea and Arsenal and Manchester United, but two serious knee injuries have seen his promising career stall.

The centre-back was released by Dortmund at the end of last season, and he has still not managed to find a new team, despite being relatively young still.

It looks as though clubs are hesitant about taking a risk on Zagadou, but West Ham manager David Moyes doesn’t appear to be deterred. We shall see if the Frenchman makes the move to the London Stadium in the coming days and weeks.
