Redknapp Admits Mistake In Claiming West Ham Star Was Worth £60m

Jamie Redknapp has retracted his claim that West Ham winger Felipe Anderson is worth £60m following a severe drop in the Brazilian’s form for the Hammers this season.

At the beginning of the campaign, the TV pundit said that the 26-year-old did have the potential to attract the interest of one of the ‘big six’ following an excellent first year in England, but he has now rowed back on those remarks:

“At the start of the season, I said a standout campaign for Felipe Anderson could see rival clubs come in with £60m-plus bids for the Brazilian. But he has not been turning it on.”

Anderson’s form is symptomatic of the malaise that has set in throughout the Hammers squad. Manager Manuel Pellegrini’s side have failed to win any of their last six games, and the Brazilian has not made a telling contribution in front of goal since providing an assist in the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth back in late September.

Since then, West Ham have scored just four goals in five Premier League games and have picked up just one point from a possible 15 that were available.
