Pundit Claims £137M Chelsea Duo Could Be Used In “Cash Plus Player Offer” For Declan Rice

West Ham could be offered Conor Gallagher and Romelu Lukaku by Chelsea in exchange for Declan Rice, according to former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore.

It has been reported that the Hammers may be open to a part-exchange offer if they offload Rice this summer. As well as suggesting that Manchester United may use Scott McTominay, Collymore suggested that the Blues could also make a similar proposal:

“When it comes to making a cash-plus player offer, Chelsea could do the same to be fair – we know how many players they’ve got to get rid of this summer. I wonder if Todd Boehly will think about including Conor Gallagher and Romelu Lukaku in exchange for Rice.”

David Moyes is known to be a big fan of Gallagher, but Chelsea did reject a £40m bid from Everton for the England international in January, so it could be the case that they would expect a sizeable sum to be taken off Rice’s asking price if they do include him in a player swap.

With Lukaku, the Belgian cost £97m when he arrived from Inter in 2021, but his value has dropped dramatically since then. Reports suggest that, after returning on loan to the Nerazzurri, he wants to remain in Italy, so you can’t see him moving to the London Stadium anyway.
