Pundit Backs West Ham To Land “Young And Hungry” Chelsea Ace Who Could Be The Perfect Antonio Replacement

Ex-Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell believes West Ham should raid his former club for striker Armando Broja.

The Albanian international is currently excelling during a loan spell at Southampton and the Saints are trying to secure him on a permanent basis. However, Sidwell thinks the Hammers should also enter the running for the 20-year-old:

“I think Broja. Someone young, hungry – I think he’ll be there [as am option]. [He’ll] learn quickly, learn his ropes as well. Wouldn’t mind playing a second part to [Michail] Antonio and getting his chance. Someone of that ilk, young and hungry.”

Irons boss David Moyes is keen on finding competition for Michail Antonio but, so far, the London club have not managed to get someone in through the door this month.

Blackburn Rovers’ Ben Brereton-Diaz, Flamengo’s Gabriel Barbosa, Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick, Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and FC Basel’s Arthur Cabral are just some of the names that have been linked with a move to the London Stadium recently.

Whether Broja will be considered, it remains to be seen. His loan spell at Southampton ends in June so West Ham would have to wait until the summer if they want to sign the player.
