TOP 5 Players With The Longest Goal Droughts In The Premier League

Scoring a goal in the Premier League is not that easy. There are many strikers from abroad with great reputations who have struggled after moving to England.

The standard of defending is very high and it can be tough to find the back of the net on a regular basis.

However, there are some footballers whose barren streaks in the Premier League have gone on for way too long.

Press the next page as we look at the 5 current top-flight players with the longest droughts in front of goal.

5) Antonee Robinson (Fulham) – 88 Games

The American international has had a pretty strong season, and he has been linked with moves to the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.

However, while Robinson has been creating a number of goals (he has 5 assists in the Premier League this campaign), the defender does not score many himself.

In fact, the 26-year-old’s last goal came in January 2022 when Fulham were still in the Championship.

Robinson has yet to score in the English top flight despite nearing a century of matches.

4) Ben Godfrey (Everton) – 104 Games

The 26-year-old is a 6ft centre-back so you would think that he would be a threat at corners.

However, Godfrey has yet to get off the mark in the Premier League, having played for both the Toffees and Norwich City.

Considering that Everton manager Sean Dyche has left him on the bench for most of this season, it didn’t seem likely that this stat would change.

Godfrey has, though, managed to re-establish himself in the starting lineup over the past few weeks.

3) Vladimir Coufal (West Ham) – 113 Games

The Czech international hasn’t scored since arriving at the London Stadium from Slavia Prague in October 2020.

Coufal was slightly more prolific at his previous clubs, and he has even bagged a goal for his country.

However, following his move to West Ham, the fullback has not managed to get on the scoresheet.

Coufal is pretty decent in terms of creating goals, though, having provided 6 assists in the Premier League this campaign.

2) Lewis Cook (Bournemouth) – 123 Games

The 27-year-old is a holding midfield player by trade but his goal record is still pretty poor.

Cook has never scored in the English top flight, with his four senior goals coming for Leeds and Bournemouth in the Championship and Carabao Cup.

It’s been nearly 23 months since he last hit the back of the net for the Cherries.

That goal came in a 3-2 win over Bristol City all the way back in April 2022.

1) Joe Gomez (Liverpool) – 130 Games

The England international’s poor scoring record is actually even worse than it appears.

In addition to not scoring in the Premier League, Gomez has never scored a goal at professional level in any competition.

It is now 232 appearances for both Liverpool and Charlton Athletic without getting on the scoresheet.

Gomez is definitely doing all he can to break the duck, though, having had 13 shots in the Premier League so far this season.
