‘Play Em Saturday!!’ ‘Good Skills’ ‘Shame Fornals Didn’t Finish Like That’ West Ham Fans React As 20 Year Old Scores Magnificent Chip For U23s

West Ham attacking midfielder Joe Powell scored with an impressive chip to open the scoring for the Under 23s against Stoke on Monday night.

The game was only seven minutes old when the 20-year-old took control of the ball from 35 yards out and lobbed the ball over the Potters keeper as the Hammers took the lead:

Supporters on Twitter were loving the skill shown by Powell and some even want to see him make an appearance for the first team:

Powell certainly has talent but he is probably not the first in line to get more game time for the senior side if manager Manuel Pellegrini is looking to give chances to youngsters.

Nathan Holland, in particular, would be the prime candidate. He did not impress during the 4-0 defeat to Oxford United in the Carabao Cup last month, but he continues to perform well at Under 23 level.

After Powell scored the opener, Holland bagged a brace as the Irons came out 4-0 winners on the night.
